Biography

Rodney began his career as a Big Band sideman in some of the greatest Swing ensembles ever -- he played with Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman and Benny Goodman. He truly made a name for himself as a featured trumpeter with Charlie Parker, balancing Parker's fiery bebop lines with a smooth lyrical tone.
