This legendary album captures the birth of U.S. grind in all its raw, aggressive brilliance. A compilation of demos made under the name Genocide before the group renamed itself Repulsion in 1986, Horrified sounds as if it's being played through a blown-out speaker, but that fuzzy hum enhances the rapid-fire basslines, intense and primitive blastbeats, raspy shouts and wailing solos of songs like "Radiation Sickness," "Repulsion" and "Maggots in Your Coffin." Add in the fact that this was posthumously released by Carcass' Jeff Walker, and this is a great piece of heavy metal history.
