About Rev Theory

Originally known as Revelation Theory, this alternative metal band from North Andover, Mass., is now known as Rev Theory and based in NYC. The band has a knack for writing hooks as catchy as the best Nickelback stuff but is smart enough to cloak them in guitars almost as heavy as Godsmack. They also have a singer (one Rich Luzzi) who occasionally steps into Phil Anselmo's Octagon of tough guy-ness. EMI saw these elements all in one spot as encouraging and signed them to a deal in 2005, releasing Truth Is Currency that same year. A switch to Interscope Records followed and their second album, Light It Up, appeared in 2008.
