Guitar Trio Is My Life! is an appropriate title, considering this releases contains 10 different versions of Rhys Chatham's "Guitar Trio," with all but one breaking the 16-minute mark. These recordings were made during Chatham's 2007 tour featuring His Guitar Trio All-Stars. And all-stars they most certainly were: The list of participating musicians includes Thurston Moore, Tony Conrad, Lee Ranaldo, John McEntire and Alan Licht. The composer's decision to employ a rotating cast allows the composition (which thrives on personal interpretation) to morph and mutate in the subtlest of ways.
