Going Blank Again (Bonus Tracks)
Released: Mar 1992

After releasing a shoegaze essential in Nowhere, Ride underwent a radical retreat from feedback's gooey excesses on sophomore effort Going Blank Again. It's a decision that becomes all too apparent by second cut "Twisterella." With its twee jangle and Mersey harmonies, the tune has more in common with British Invasion revivalists The La's and Teenage Fanclub than with My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. In fact, the entire album (save opener "Leave Them All Behind") can be seen as a harbinger of Britpop's impending toppling of shoegaze as the sonic flavor de jour in the United Kingdom.
