The band’s first two EP’s collected here basically sum up the sound of the English indie scene at the beginning of 1990. Combining the mournful poppy side of the Byrds with the more explosive elements of the Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, Ride managed to find their own guitar-driven, psychedelic niche. “Like A Daydream” deserves an award of some sort.
