On it first couple albums R.F.T.C. was a bulky post-hardcore outfit wandering the back roads of classic rock 'n' roll in search of the universal. Scream, Dracula, Scream! is proof they found it. Speedo and company sound rapturous. They're rocking out, knowing they forged a priceless heirloom encrusted with gems from their forefathers: Phil Spector, Brian Wilson, Social D., Fugazi. When the Ramones made End of the Century, their failed stab at Born to Run, this is what they envisioned making.
