Voices by Roger Eno
Released: Mar 1985
Label: Eg Records
Before releasing his debut album, Roger Eno spent considerable time in the studio working with his brother Brian and pal Daniel Lanois. Well versed in ambient soundscapes, these heavies surely inspired Eno when putting together Voices. This chunk of hazy goodness feels both ethereal and textural in ways most New Age albums simply do not. The title track is gorgeous and would actually appeal to fans of the Cocteau Twins and other dream pop found on the 4AD imprint. See -- New Age can be good!
