Room 5

Biography

"Happy Music", a track from Vito Lucente's Room 5 Music & You: The Album (2004) album, is the best description of his sound - upbeat funky filtered house with a slick soul vocal, all wrapped in crystalline production. Born in Italy, Vito grew up in Brussels and released his first productions in the 90's as 'Kaf'é, 'Hugh K' and 'Mr. Jack'. It was his next alter-go - 'Junior Jack' that really put him on the map, with "My Feeling" (2000) and then "Thrill Me" (2000) leading to a residency at London's Ministry of Sound. Partnering with Kid Crème, a series of remixes and compilations followed, and from there he re-named himself Room 5 for the release of "Make Luv" (2003). Using Oliver Cheatham's 80's hit "Get Down Saturday Night" as a base, he added his signature funky house style and stormed the top of the charts. Sounding like a blend of Daft Punk, Felix Da Housecat and Modjo, subsequent singles "Music & You" and "Think About You" offered more soul-house anthems and floor-filling disco-esque moments for lovers of quality 21st century party music everywhere.
