Roscoe Robinson
Roscoe Robinson
Radio
Biography
Warmly vibrating organ playing, hard R&B structures, and deep Soul vocals are the hallmarks of this former member of the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi. Roscoe Robinson has been a part of the Gospel music scene since the 1950s when he sang with another seminal group, the Highway Q.C.'s, and his experience and devotion pay off in these solo recordings. With a vocal style similar to Sam Cooke's and backed by a sharp R&B outfit, Robinson performs the kind of Gospel that could be easily mistaken for radio hits from the Stax/Volt era.
