This 2005 release is supposed to be Ryuichi Sakamoto's first pop album in years, but it can sit next to his most experimental and sonically diverse works. Frequent Sakamoto collaborators (Arto Lindsay, the Morelenbaums and David Sylvian) are all here on a work addressing war and international tensions. The lament "World Citizen," co-written and sung by David Sylvian, is the clear standout, and gets both a vocal and separate instrumental reading with a different backing.
