Maybe it was the 1969 film Easy Rider or perhaps it was Los Angeles' whole "canyon desperado" country rock scene of yesteryear. Regardless, there were many random and obscure bands in the early '70s that were inspired by the Byrds, Eagles and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Sailcat was such a band. Blending Hammond organ, horns and fuzz guitar, their first album Motorcycle Mama overflowed with peaceful, easy feelings that told the tale of a lonesome LA cowboy whose Harley was his horse.
