Sapat call Kentucky home, but they might as well hail from Scandinavia's Arctic tundra or the Black Forest of Germany. That's because the group lays down thick, slow-burn grooves reminiscent of Sweden's Parson Sound and Krautrock pioneers like the mighty Popol Vuh. We're talking heavy tribal folk pounding like the heart of a 1,000-year-old land tortoise painted in psychedelic rainbows. That said, Mortise and Tenon also boasts well-crafted, Bo Diddley-meets-Velvets rock; simply jam "Maat Fount."
