The English vocalist/actress/cosmonaut (!) delivers an 11th album of what is on the surface crossover classical pop songs. However, thanks to new wave synths, genuine hooks and an apt Wings cover ("Venus and Mars"), Dreamchaser deftly rises above the undeniable schmaltz of pretty much everyone else connected with the genre. (Imagine if Celine Dion had songs you weren't embarrassed to know by heart.) Brightman flexes her operatic muscles on "Lento e Largo" from Henryk Gorecki's famous Third Symphony.
