Biography

Singer Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null started Saving Abel in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi in 2004, nabbing their name from a description of the biblical story of Cain and Able that Null found not in the bible, but through a Google search. They'd jammed and wrote together about a year before a demo of their tune "18 Weeks" caught the ear of Memphis producer Skidd Mills (ZZ Top), who offered to record the band's early material. Like many of the tunes that would make their debut, the band's sound strove for accessibility and familiar ground, often pulling straight from au currant active rockers like Nickleback and Daughtry. After a period of toiling though small gigs, those demos ended up in the lap of a Virgin A&R, and the band released their debut full-length on Virgin in March of 2008. It included the big chart hit "Addicted."
