Scarface is a bruiser, delivering tough, terse lines about street life over dirty south blues bap. Life is survival, the code of the streets is paramount and the concerns of the modern metro-rapper are frivolous. "I'll be old and gray / before I rap about my clothes and chains," he declares over a screeching organ on "Bigg Dogg Status." His occasional bravado is cut with loneliness ("Girl You Know"), despair ("Who Do You Believe In") and, ultimately, death ("Suicide Note"). The somber stories here are classic 'Face.
