If you can put up with Bootsy Collins' decades-old star-shades space-bass shtick and a few Living Colour imitations ("Lookin' for Eden," for instance), you just might find this superstar funk-metal fairly entertaining. And it's not always a mere virtuoso show-off routine, either. Standouts include the Terminator X-style turntable attack "Sci-Fax Theme," presumably accidental early Tubes homage "Life-Is-In-Deliver," and the concluding national Hendrix anthem "Zionplanet 10."
