This album compiles all nine of the Jacques Brel tunes Scott Walker covered while recording his first three solo albums in the late 1960s. It's a perfect concept for an album, considering the French composer served as a huge influence on the singer. There is some truly powerful music to be found here. As always, words are key, yet pay special attention to the splendid arrangements, especially on the closer "Sons Of." It's like a carousel slowly spinning out of control. Utterly breathtaking.
