Released:
Label: Sub Pop Records
Sebadoh's 1992 Sub Pop debut combines two previously released EPs, Rocking the Forest and Sebadoh vs. Helmet, with some key songs inexplicably left out ("It's So Hard to Fall in Love" and "Gimme Indie Rock," to name two). While years down the road the touchy-feely-ness of Lou Barlow's songs (with the exception of throwback "Good Things") can be tough to take, Loewenstein and Gaffney's cuts emanate the punk-metal fits and perfect psychedelia (check "Mean Distance") that made the band so great. The best thing about Sebadoh was that they always just missed anyway.
