New Age is fairly nebulous, as the genre often bleeds into other styles, including new instrumental and neoclassical. Norway's Secret Garden, the only instrumental group to win the Eurovision Song Contest, gently straddles all three. On Earthsongs, Fionnula Sherry's Celtic-touched violin weaves a mellow tapestry, with some help from piano, soft-rock vocals, more strings and light percussion. "The Reel" threatens a Riverdance-like frolic, but Secret Garden rarely gets that peppy.
