Unless someone tipped you off, you'd never know the band singing "Straight Lines" was Silverchair – the Aussie grunge trio that made its mark with the Pearl Jam sound-alike hit "Tomorrow" in the early '90s. "Straight Lines" is dotted with synths, a tinkling piano and a sly melody that creeps up on you – and has absolutely nothing to do with grunge. In fact, the song is not unlike frontman Daniel Johns' quirky, synth-happy side project, the Dissociatives, and is deceptively catchy tune that will win you over before it's finished playing.
