Former grunge disciples Silverchair have gradually grown out of their flannels over their 12-year career, these days outfitting themselves with a bit more sparkle. Make that a lot more sparkle. The dancey, bombastic Young Modern will give anyone who associates the band solely with '90s mega-hit "Tomorrow" a kick in the keister. The album deceptively begins with the trio's familiar booming rock but quickly evolves into Freddie Mercury-flavored affairs, gregarious orchestral arrangements, disco-esque ditties and even raunchy rockers reminiscent of fellow Aussies AC/DC.
