A Siouxsie Sioux solo debut released in the autumn of her career may raise fears of an aging sellout hawking a watered down version of her former self. But they are immediately dismissed within the first minute of "Into a Swan", a jittery post-industrial tune about transformation. Songs like "Here Comes That Day", a swinging Shirley Bassey-esque big band number, and "Drone Zone", a slithering bass and sax exercise, show that Siouxsie's haunting charisma has weathered the years intact. The princess of darkness has returned in fine form.
