Working primarily from the 1950s-'70s, honky-tonk angel Skeeter Davis was a country star, both as a member of the rockabilly-ish Davis Sisters and as a solo artist. Her '60s stuff is classic Nashville Sound, and her '70s material moves into the "countrypolitan" area. She never really got the attention she deserved, as this excellent collection illustrates.
