There's a complex story behind Acnalbasac Noom, including multiple titles, versions, re-recordings, etc. For all intents and purposes, however, it's Slapp Happy's second album, and what a stunner. The German-British group filters cabaret and girl-group pop through krautrock and progressive rock, creating one of the earliest instances of avant-pop (it even predates twee by a decade). The show's star is one Dagmar Krause, an eccentric chanteuse who should be revered like Nico and Yoko Ono.
