The nomad souls who have drifted in and out of the Boston Hardcore collective Slapshot would probably outnumber some of the audiences who attended their shows. Over the years, however, these stalwart power chord pushers have forged pioneering Thrash/Punk anthems. With gale-force intensity, Slapshot's music blows off the deadfall from American Hardcore, revealing its roots in Oi! and Heavy Metal. Hectoring vocals and devastating guitar riffs give their songs the feel of a bench-emptying, stick-swinging, blood-on-the-ice hockey brawl.
