This eternally hip singer and rhythm guitarist became a cult star for his invented vocabulary(check out "Yip Roc Heresy") and optimistic energy. This showcases Gaillard's swing-era work with Slim & Slam, his jump blues hits and bebop period. These cuts are funny and entertaining but Gaillard's musicality makes them much more than Dr. Demento-style novelties.
