The Best Of Sonny & Cher
Released: Mar 1967
Originally released in 1967, this greatest-hits package was Acto's way of cashing in on the duo's spectacular chart success over the previous two years. Indeed, Sonny & Cher were a hits-producing machine: "The Beat Goes On," "Let It Be Me," "Little Man," "It's the Little Things," "A Beautiful Story" and, of course, the timeless love-generation anthem "I Got You Babe." Looking back, the best thing about these pop nuggets is Sonny Bono's gloriously lush production, a folksy variation of Phil Spector's "wall of sound." Wildly underrated, Bono totally knew his way around a recording studio.
