Rumors have abounded about the name change, but it's official: legendary Punk/Funk/Reggae/Hardcore/Metal heads Bad Brains have reunited in their original form, either a) because they want to conjure up a more positive mental attitude (according to the band members), or b) due to an insidious record deal that left them without the rights to their own name (Internet rumor). In either case the band is back in full force, performing a mix of classics such as "Banned in DC" alongside newer thrashers like the raucous "Round and Round," as well as a heavy dose of their underrated Roots Reggae. They can still put on a bad-ass concert that generally consists of balding ex-punks moshing it up with young Alt Metal heads, all of whom are just dying to see lead singer HR do one of his flip-filled live performances.
