So we already knew they weren't exactly girls anymore, but who would've guessed they wouldn't really be spicy either? Well, maybe we all should've, because this first single from the Spice Girls redux picks up right where the fearsome fivesome left off: in treacly ballad terrain. One of the smartest decisions the Girls ever made, however, was to redirect the sentimental love song at their girlfriends. Their second smartest choice? Shutting up and letting Mel C sing lead. In that sense, then, this is one smart song. (But fingers crossed for "Wannabe" the sequel on the full-length, OK?)
