Spiller

Biography

Best known for his hugely popular single "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" (2000), Cristiano Spiller started as a DJ at 14, playing local clubs in his home town of Venice before gaining residences all over Italy. His production work began in 1995, and within two years he made it into the UK top 30 with "Spiller From Rio" under the name 'Laguna'. "Groovejet" named after a Miami club, was originally an instrumental on his Mighty Miami EP but in 2000 he re-recorded the track with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, former lead singer of The Audience. His crystal clear production style worked well with her precise vocals, and the result was a worldwide hit, infecting dance floors with its catchy chorus and latin-fused House. Production work followed for artists as diverse as Run-D.M.C, Gloria Gaynor and St. Germain followed.
