Wheelchair-bound polio survivors and street kids who started playing homemade guitars (!) together while living on the grounds of a zoo in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo? Now, that's a PR story. But Staff Benda Bilili has the chops to back up its amazing story and, quite possibly, to move the world. Like their debut, album two is awash in warm, joyful vintage Congolese rumba, their sunny guitars flowing over rattle-and-hum percussion. This time around, the band gets more rock 'n' roll, like on the electro-poppy "Libala" or on "Sopeka," where the tin fiddle wails with rock god fervor.
