Kenton was both celebrated and derided for his love of big, blaring experimental sounds. But of all the experiments that Kenton ever concocted, City Of Glass is the grandest. The charts were written by Bob Graettinger (originals, plus two standards, one of which features a June Christy vocal). It remains a rewarding, if unsettling experience.
