Before the Status Quo were synonymous with denim flares and boogie rock, the British group played bombastic, organ-driven psychedelia. Their best-known track, "Pictures of Matchstick Man," is one of the great psych-pop singles of all time. "Neighbour, Neighbour" has a fuzz-driven garage mania; their soulful take on the Bee Gees' "Spicks and Specks" is another keeper.
