Steve Azar

Having watched musicians play outside his father's liquor store as a small child, Steve Azar knew that he would have to leave his Mississippi Delta home someday if he wanted to make it big with his own music. But being in the land where riverboat queens roll certainly helped Azar soak up a lot of Southern culture, which gave him the bona fide roots that many of his contemporaries lack - roots that help define his distinctive style of new country.
