For the title work, the Kronos Quartet recorded two tracks and performed the third overtop of them. The result is interesting, whether one is familiar with Reich or not. His trademark phasing technique is heard throughout, where two figures of different tempos weave in and out of synchronicity. Check out "Electric Guitar Phase" to hear this technique at its most explicit.
