A generation only knows Steve Winwood as a likeable adult contemporary singer but, of course, the man helped build the platform for classic rock with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith (how'd you like to have those on your resume?). With this preview single from his upcoming album, Winwood goes back to the kind of gritty, RnB organ-drenched rock that he helped popularize. The dark, moody and grungy vibe suits Winwood just fine -- don't expect him to return to lite rock any time soon.
