On their all-covers set, Christ's hair-bangers fare best when sticking to sleek, speedy standards from Sweet, The Scorpions, UFO and Deep Purple. Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" -- an odd choice, given its polytheistic lyrics -- gets an almost lo-fi treatment; Kiss' four-square yeller "Shout It Out Loud" stomps harder than melodrama from Ozzy and Iron Maiden. Picking Black Sabbath's "Heaven and Hell" may suggest a sense of irony, and the mess Stryper make of Van Halen's "On Fire" is sort of fun. At the end, they add one original, called simply "God."
