The Styrenes were part of the incestual musical network that popped up in Cleveland at the dawn of the 1970s after the area was repeatedly privy to concerts by the Velvet Underground. The group's largely experimental output varies wildly but the minimal, nihilistic pre-punk sound of "Drano In My Veins" justifies the whole disc.
