Pre-platinum AC/DC remains the obvious starting point for these bawdy New Orleans brats ("Born in Exile" includes a superb spoken Bon Scott-style part), but their 2007 album doesn't stop there. "Bow Down" and "Hey Kiddies" delve ably into NWOBHM and KISS territory, respectively. "Long Live Rock" references "Paradise City"; "What's Your Problem Now?" references Positive K's 1992 rap hit "I Got a Man"; "Lonely at the Bottom" carries on a time-proven hard-luck theme. As does "Jailbait": "I was on my way up/ She was on her way down/ And I didn't know I crossed the line." Ask for I.D. next time!
