A Susan Boyle Christmas album was inevitable. Beloved by grandmothers everywhere, blessed with a Tiny Tim-ian underdog pluck and, of course, bestowed with a voice that's as clear and pure as a choir of angels, Boyle delivers her Gift as expected: Classics like "O Come All Ye Faithful" are moving, if a tad treacly (but come on, it's Christmas!). Boyle's more traditional good tidings are also interspersed with overwrought originals and odd covers like a totally unironic take on Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and a boys choir-bolstered version of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over."
