More Songs About Buildings And Food [w/Bonus Tracks] (Bonus Tracks)
Released: Jul 1978
Label: Rhino/Warner Bros.
The Talking Heads' debut album literally knocked critics out, but it was this follow-up that crossed over to the public, with their cover of Al Green's "Taking Me to The River" earning airplay on FM and AM radio. The surprise is, this is an even starker and more uncompromisingly modernistic album (just look at the title -- these really are songs about buildings and food). The difference is that sonic guru Brian Eno got an even crisper sound out the Heads and David Byrne's songs cut even deeper into the confusions and small joys of American life. This seminal album gets remastered with bonus cuts.
