If the last name looks familiar, that's because it should. Tamar is from that clan of Braxtons -- the ones who include among them Toni and Trina. The baby of the group, Tamar doesn't seem any less vocally developed than her sisters, even if cameos by hipsters such as Jermaine Dupri single her out as the least likely of the four to make appearances on Adult Contemporary radio anytime soon. With age comes wisdom, and for now, Tamar Braxton is learning that an amazing set of pipes works just as well next to a thumping backbeat as it does in a languid love song.
