Too bad songwriter Tammy Cochran's sweet country songs weren't around when Loretta Lynn or Tammy Wynette topped the charts. Many of today's critics sympathize with Cochran -- her gorgeous songs are just too country-sounding for the country charts. While her romantic ballads don't sound retro, their timeless quality seems out of place next to all the vamped-up little buckle bunnies and country starlets in the current Nashville climate.
