by Tanya Morgan
Released: May 2009
Tanya Morgan's second album, Brooklynati, finds the once blog-rap stars in a maturation phase. If their 2006 debut, Moonlighting, was mostly dusty beats and freestyles, then this disc offers actual songs like "Never Enough (Crazy Love)," which flips a few perspectives on familial and romantic love. But these rap nerds still have fun, as the awesome horrorcore parody "Hardcore Gentlemen" proves; and cipher sessions like "Never 2ndary" (with Cincy crew the Lessondary) and "Morgan Blu" (with indie-rapper Blu) demonstrate their proficiency at rocking cuts that make fans go nuts.
