Tooth, Fang & Claw
by Ted Nugent
Released: Jul 1974
Label: BizarrePlanet Entertainment
This is the second of two albums released between the formative Amboy Dukes years and his success with Epic, and Nugent's transition from acid rock to arena-busting heavy metal is apparent from the very opening seconds of Tooth, Fang and Claw. Slightly less psychedelic, the music is, however, markedly harder, with the guitars more up front than ever. The album features two all-time Nugent classics: "Hibernation," which starts with Native American spirit flutes before going awesome-guitar-ing-ly insane, and "The Great White Buffalo," which is, well, epic.
