Biography

A shocking fact about Telex: behind the analog keyboards, sequencers and drum machines are real, live humans. Three Belgian men produced these futuristic dance tracks throughout the '70s and '80s. A more disco-infused form of Kraftwerk's techno-pop, Telex let their synths unleash string sections worth of oscillations as their minimal beats loop on until dawn. Lyrics, primarily about dancing, lie hidden behind the estrangement of Vocoders that fuse the words to their analog instruments. Even today, their tracks seem other-worldly. In '98, a group of producers paid much over-due respect to the band by creating a full-length collection of impressive remixes.
