Cuba's Telmary is easily one of the most talented female emcees on the circuit right now: her smoky, seductive voice gives weight to every flow she drops, while her Cuban heritage infuses the album with a rare combination of spirituality and swing. This 2007 Cubadisco Best Hip-Hop Album winner pushes the boundaries of Latin rap, featuring guests ranging from Ojos de Brujo to Los Van Van. That doesn't mean every experiment works -- there are a few ill-considered excursions into English and odd pop moments -- but you have to applaud her for trying.
