Stonedhenge (Bonus Tracks)
Released: Jan 1969
Label: HIP-O (PG)/Fontana
Pigeonholed as a bunch of young, hairy Brits ripping off American bluesmen, the early Ten Years After were far more into studio experimentation than ever given credit for. Stonedhenge, released in 1969, is littered with touches of psychedelia, world music and progressive rock. The album's two crowning achievements, "Going to Try" and "Hear Me Calling," are moody, extended jams rivaling anything from the Groundhogs and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac.
