There's a reason Buzzcock Pete Shelley was offered guest vocals on this LA power-pop punk band's debut EP in 2005. Not only do the Adored nail the frenetic energy and sonic clarity of so much of the '77 Brit punk and Gang of Four-esque angularity, but they manage to write memorable songs and choruses, too. They may dress a little too nice, their hairdos are oh-so perfect, but they back it up with unexpected bursts of aggression amid the pop euphoria. Check out "Ethical Drug."
